Access to creative counselling

Sometimes just getting started can have it’s own obstacles and I aim to provide access to counselling support to anyone be it due to cost of living, family/work-life/therapy balance, neurodiversity or disability. Here’s how I can support you:

Online Therapy: Online therapy is a great help for many. It’s flexible, allows you to stay at home, and can be easier if you need a carer’s help to get to appointments.

Longer Sessions: If you find it hard to focus or need more time, I can make our sessions half an hour longer. This extra time costs + half your regular hour session rate.

Discounts: I offer lower prices for young people (18-25 years old) and those receiving income or disability benefits.

Every Two Weeks: If it works for you, we can meet every other week to make counselling more affordable. (But we’ll meet weekly for the first 6 sessions.)

Carer Support: If you need a carer to come to counselling with you, we can talk about how to make it work. Your carer might come to the first few sessions, and then we’ll figure out what’s best for you.

Group Sessions with Carers: In group sessions, I encourage carers to join in. This helps create a supportive environment. It’s important that the same carer comes each week.

Non-Verbal Communication: I have lots of experience with non-verbal adults and can use Basic Makaton or British Sign Language (BSL).

Group Support: Group sessions can be more affordable and helpful. You can connect with others who have similar experiences.

Therapeutic Groups: Sometimes, I run groups focused on specific issues like social anxiety. These longer sessions are cost-effective and let you connect with others in the same situation.

Creative Activities: Keep an eye out for low-cost or ‘pay-what-you-can’ creative wellbeing activities online. These aren’t focused on counselling, but they can help improve your overall wellbeing.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions or want to know more about these options.
